Today is a big day, Louisa. When I got home from work, your Mom told me that you had said “Love you, Mama” to her. You also said “Love you” to her yesterday, so obviously I was a bit jealous.
You see, I have been trying to get you to say “Love you” or “Love you, too” for months – from way before you were able to say it, for sure. I think you knew how badly your Mom and I wanted you to say that, because you have steadfastly refused to say it even though you’ll say anything and everything else you hear.
After I heard that you had said it to your Mom, I asked you “Can you say ‘Love you, Dada?'” and you replied with “Say Love you, Dada.” Needless to say, I was ecstatic. I yelled “Woohoo!” and pumped my fist in the air. It was absolutely wonderful.
